Artist Statement
My journey in weaving and traditional forms is a homage to our cultural heritage. Inspired by the folk traditions of my country, I strive to preserve and innovate these timeless arts, weaving stories of our ancestors into contemporary expressions.
In my work, I view nature as an interconnected web where every element, from the smallest grain of sand to the tallest tree, plays a vital role in maintaining the harmony of the whole. This profound connection inspires my tapestries, where I weave together the threads of earth, water, air, and fire to symbolize the unity and balance inherent in the natural world.
Each tapestry is an intricate dance of colors and textures, mirroring the rhythms and cycles of nature. I aim to remind viewers of the deep bond we share with nature and the importance of preserving this delicate balance. By incorporating natural fibers and dyes, I not only pay homage to traditional techniques but also emphasize the sustainable practices that are crucial for our planet’s future. My tapestries are a tribute to the beauty and resilience of the natural world, and a call to honor and protect it for generations to come.
I believe that the souls of nature never truly die; they return, transformed, through the elements. This cyclical rebirth fascinates me and influences my artistic vision. My compositions reflect this eternal dance, weaving the essence of past and present into a unified tapestry. By integrating these reborn elements into my work, I strive to create pieces that resonate with the timeless spirit of nature. Each thread is a testament to the enduring life force that flows through all things, reminding us of the sacred continuity and interconnectedness of the natural world.
